What search and social cards actually use
Google's snippet is built from the title and the meta description. A title around 30 to 60 characters and a description around 70 to 160 characters usually fit. The checker flags shorter and longer copy so you can see the cut before you publish.
Facebook, Slack, iMessage, and LinkedIn read Open Graph: og:title, og:description, and og:image. Twitter reads twitter:card, and falls back to Open Graph when its own title or image is missing. An image around 1200 by 630 pixels fills the card.
A canonical tag tells search engines which URL is the real one when the same page answers on more than one address. Viewport tells phones how to scale the layout.
After the tags look right
Tags only help if the page they describe is the one you want people to open. Publish the site first, paste that URL here, then share it. A QR code generator can point a table card or a poster at the same address. A color palette generator is the place to settle colors before you write the page.

Yes. Paste a public URL and read the result. You do not need an account.
The checker fetches the page so it can read the public HTML. Bunstation does not save the URL or the tags after the response is sent.
The title, meta description, canonical URL, robots, viewport, language, Open Graph tags, and Twitter card tags. Other meta tags on the page are listed underneath.
The page needs og:image or twitter:image pointing at a file that loads. A relative path is resolved against the final page URL. If the image host blocks hotlinking, the tag can still be present while the preview stays blank.
A title reads well around 30 to 60 characters. A meta description reads well around 70 to 160. Shorter or longer still works. The checker marks the length so you can see what may get cut in search.
No. The page has to be reachable on the public web over http or https. Private networks and non-standard ports are skipped.
Some sites fill tags with JavaScript after the page loads, or they send different HTML to different clients. This checker reads the HTML from the first response, which is what most link previews use.
No. It only reads tags. To change them, edit the page, or generate a site in Bunstation and publish it.
